Rooney’s message of service is a smokescreen for an opulent lifestyle.

​​​​​​​​​While he masquerades as a champion for veterans and their families, he rides a gravy train of cash all the way to the bank, using his charity as a vehicle to create golf courses, engage in the establishment of residential real estate enterprises, ritzy galas, international jet-setting, and personal promotion— hobnobbing with mega-donors to fund his political campaign along the way, ane taking advantage of his position to secure club memberships.​
While his charity forks over mere crumbs in scholarships, he spends most of his time living it up and raking in cash from paid speaking engagements and networking to fund his congressional campaign.

The concern is compounded by Rooney’s continued expansion—his leadership of a nonprofit, speaking engagements reportedly commanding $30,000 to $50,000, and now a run for Congress—without any clear effort to separate or wind down overlapping roles. As these spheres converge, it raises a central question: where, precisely, is the line between personal gain, nonprofit activity, and affiliated commercial interests?
ROONEY'S BLACK BOX
Rooney says his charitable activities started in his garage but records show they actually started with a fully fleshed out board and $800,000 in cash funding from an incorporated entity, with $333,000 in miscellaneous spending that is unaccounted for by his organization.

BLURRED LINES
Rooney’s charity work blurs the lines between business and pleasure, commingling his golf interests, personal affairs and philanthropic activities, registering his organization's headquarters at his mansion (top left), and conveniently aligning countless projects with his personal finances.

What’s more, Rooney failed to take a stance against the perverted ideology of transgenderism, refusing to alienate his partner, Bud Light, when they promoted sexual perversion on our television for children to see (top right).
THE PERKS PIPELINE
On top of using his charity as camouflage for a life of opulence, Rooney collects lucrative speaking fees—often between $30,000 and $50,000—and has flown around the world in private jets in the name of helping America’s heroes with cash intended for veterans.

It’s uncertain exactly how much reaches them directly.​ While Rooney continues to present his work as charity, affiliated, for-profit organizations operate inside the same network as the golf business and Rooney earned over a half million in cash alone in salary in 2024.

The concern is not one isolated issue, but the cumulative effect of overlapping interests and the lack of a clear line between public mission and private benefit as he moves into public office.​ The real question is whether Rooney’s donor interests will simply carry over into political favor just like his personal profiteering.

THE BOTTOM LINE?
Lt. Colonel Dan Rooney has turned his veterans charity into a lucrative enterprise and is running a campaign against our district for his family's interest, not ours. His charitable activity, business infrastructure, personal brand, and political ambition all intersect in unethical ways and that intersection is the issue.
Because when those lines cross, it should raise fundamental concerns for all of us.
